Nicole BrittonDIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
Nicole represents The Twig in the community, speaking at events and raising awareness about how people can help children in foster care while also handling The Twig's donor base and grants. She has developed and oversees a number of fundraising and development events for The Twig, including our annual Turkey Trot for the Twig, A Taste for The Twig, and our Fostering Love Gala. Nicole has a heart for children and that heart led her to obtain a bachelor's degree in psychology to better understand the needs of children who have experienced trauma. Nicole is actively involved in the community, serving in various organizations. She is a graduate of the Gulf Coast Leadership Institute, is on the community board of the Venice YMCA, is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and a member of Junior League of Sarasota. Nicole and her husband Matt have the joy of parenting four children - Hayley, Ryley, Mattie, and Wyatt - while also serving as foster parents.

Lindsey MayPROGRAM COORDINATOR
Lindsey coordinates programming and resources to better serve our Twig families and the young adults who age out of foster care. Lindsey serves as our point of contact with local agencies that serve the foster care community. She brings over 12 years of experience working in various roles in child welfare; case manager, supervisor, and Director of Programs for a local non-profit. She enjoys working with children and families that are reported to be “at risk” and in need of support and service. Lindsey's unwavering advocacy for those involved in the child welfare system is evident by her ongoing involvement and dedication to fight for and implement change that will make positive impacts on the families affected. She has been recognized for her accomplishments by the Safe Children Coalition, local foster parent associations, Department of Children and Families, and the Guardian Ad Litem Program. Lindsey finds great pleasure in her current role but finds the most joy in being a wife & mom to her husband and 6 kids - who continually push her to be the best mother/person she can be. They also play a significant role in why she is so passionate about helping the children and families affected in this field.
